Curriculums
RCC Curriculum
Overview
Our formal curriculum period is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. However, the learning really begins with the first hello in the morning and ends with the last goodbye in the evening. We utilize developmentally appropriate curriculum. Each month specific themes are enriched by hands on projects. We celebrate the uniqueness and similarities of different cultures around the world through stories, songs, holidays and traditions. We emphasize development of the whole child by creating learning experiences specifically designed to enhance emotional, social ,cognitive and physical growth.
Health
Children who are ill need to be kept at home. They will be evaluated for wellness upon arrival to RCC. In the event of illness or fever, the parents will be contacted and the child will be sent home. Children are required to stay home 24hours after a fever of 101 or higher without the aid of medication. Notification is required if your child will not be in attendance or in the event of a contagious disease. Immunization records must be kept current.
Food
Two snacks are served daily (9:30 a.m. & 3:30 p.m.) RCC provides milk and juice. Parents are responsible for lunch. Cold pack is recommended. Lunches that require heating should be in a microwave safe container
Safety
Safety is our first priority. Parents should report unsafe conditions immediately. Children may not wear sandals, crocs, jellies, or slicked-sole shoes to school. All students must have an extra pair of tennis shoes in their cubbies. Emergency information must be current. Photo identification for individuals, other than parents, is required to pick up a child.
